2.) I think that Andre Rison made many financial mistakes, but his main mistake was living beyond his means. Rison states that at times, he would travel with an entourage of 40-50 people. He would spend thousands of dollars at clubs in one sitting. He never paid attention to how much money he was spending, saying that people would ask him, “Do you know how much money you just spent?” and he would reply, “Nope.” If Rison would have lived within his means, he would have a lot more money to spend later on in life.

I agree with this. Andre Rison made some of the most financial mistakes, and he lived way beyond his means. He had so much money he was receiving, he felt like he would never run out and he could buy anything. Most of the people that were in his entourage he didn't even know, but he didn't care. He would still spend thousands on them. If he had a true friend, he would have tried to stop Andre because by the end of the day he could have spent 40,000 and not even care or know that he spent that much. - Kevin Hambourger
ReplyDeleteI agree that Andre Rison lived beyond his means. I think that part of the reason he made the decision to not pay attention to how much he was spending was because he didn't really want to know-because he knew the amount he was spending was too high. If he had payed attention to how much he was spending, he would have discovered that he was basically throwing his money away, and he would have made better financial choices. He is an example of an athlete who could be doing very well right now, but instead, chose to spend all his money without thinking it through or stopping to calculate just how much he was actually spending.
